I'm quite a newbie here and don't know much about watches but I do love them! Anyway, I just want to share a piece that I am currently wearing.

The watch is over 15 years old and was passed down from my dad as my 14th birthday present. I had it for about six years now. To me, the watch holds a strong sentimental value as it reminds me of my father every time I look at the watch. To date, the watch is still working in perfect condition despite having to manually wind it if not worn for a day (Does Power Reserve go down as the watch ages?). It gains roughly a minute a week (is this really bad?) but is still a fine piece of mechanical watch that keeps relatively accurate time. The luminescent bits doesn't glow in the dark anymore apart from the dot on the bezel because it has been replaced about four years ago (the blue colour on the bezel faded).

The watch is really tough in my opinion and it has endured a lot of beating. I am at university and wear it continuously including when I go out clubbing and stuff. The bracelet is also really comfortable and secure. I wish my dad has bought a full size one since I have a big wrist but I'm fine with this guy. Actually I love this watch so much and wouldn't trade it for anything.

That's a great watch, I have one myself (with the SS bezel insert) and wore it almost daily for 7.5 years before having it serviced. Now it keeps superb time, and with the new hands, the hands are luminous again!

When I bought it, I thought the larger size was too big for my wrist. While my tune has changed, I still like the 36mm as the movement fits better and can be as dressy as a DJ!

Thanks, I like the higher quality of the SS bezel insert and at the time, I didn't want a bezel insert that would fade, so the choice was obvious. I'd say only about 10% seem to have this insert, although it could likely get purchased aftermarket.

Very nice and good pics...I love the wave detail on the dial...that's one of the primary reasons I want this model. Does anyone know what year Omega first made this case/dial variation?

cool watch with cool history Ben...my dad gave me a tissot PR50 when I got into university (from which I will graduate this year)...he had kept it without wearing it for 8 years before he decided I had qualified for a nice present :D...I am wearing that watch right now when I type..I have many others but when I am sure I will not do any activity that will damage my watch, I love to wear this specific one

I believe if your's is nearly fifteen years ago, in a way it has more prestige also because nearly that should be the first few years of that case/design's introduction ;)..check up series and serial number and see if it really is from the first or second years of production...may be thats not value in monetary terms, but adds sort of s vintageness/prestige :)...beautiful watch..enjoy it in good health.

all this 36mm is too small stuff is not borne out when one actually looks at these watches on a man's wrist. they look good to me.

I agree, I don't think mine looks too small on my wrists at all, which is why I would have NO problem wearing a 36mm DD or DJ. However, I WILL say that I'm not wearing my 34mm watches very much anymore after going to 39 and 40 for my Explorer II and Submariner, respectively. I also tried on a 42mm PO and 43mm Breitling, and they were too big for my personal taste and comfort.
