Ebay 1655 Scam

I think this is a scam:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Rolex-Explorer-I...3%3A1|294%3A50

I got the sellers details (telephone number) and called the seller.

The guy on the phone didn't know the full name (surname) of the seller and asked me to call back in 1 hour and he would give me the telephone number of the seller.

How can a seller list a telephone number to his account that is not his telephone number, and moreover, have the guy answer the telephone and not know his full name.

The fact that the sellers details are not correct is a breach of the Ebay rules in the first place.

This is a scam, and a very big scam.

This part of the auction description is pretty scary:

I would say that you're correct about the scam aspect. Feedback is very low. The pictures look like they were taken from someone else and cropped for use on his page. I would be very wary of this particular seller.

Still working on it. There is no sense in reporting these to E-bay if they are going to stop listening to our reports. This watch sold for less than $10,000. There is no way this would have sold this cheaply if it was real or, if the entire sale was not a scam of some sort. I am ticked off about this one.

I think you are right Terry, there is no way this watch, if it were real, would have gone for $8K.

I see that the auction has now been cancelled, so I expect the buyer was tipped off in time by e-bay before making any payment.

Thanks
