Service / 5 Year Warranty Question
I got a Submariner in late May 2016 and the 5 year warranty is coming up. Does that cover an initial service? Should I send it anyway? Has been a daily watch for 5 years that I wear doing a everything I do. If the 5 year doesn’t cover it was wondering how long people usually go between service intervals.

Doesn’t include a service. I would keep wearing and revisit the question in another five years.

I usually have my Rolexes serviced every eight to ten years. https://millenarywatches.com/rolex-warranty/

Unless there's something wrong I wouldn't have it serviced yet. I bought my Sub new in 1996 and had it serviced (in-house at my AD) in 2009 and 2019. At the second service they had to replace the main spring. Otherwise cleaning, new gaskets etc. No polishing. I do take my battered old Sub in once a year for a free pressure check, and it's my every day watch too!

Thank you all. Didn’t want to miss my window if it was something I should be doing. It seems to be running with no issues and don’t want to ship it off for a few weeks if the warranty doesn’t cover the first one. I’ll circle back in a few years.

1. No, warranties cover manufacturing defects 2. No, unless you want to. You will pay full service costs. 3. This is asked many times. Rolex has stated that they see around 10 years as an average.
