My watches all fit properly, Rolex or otherwise.
Even in hot or cold weather with my arm size changing very slightly, the fits are great. If your watch fits properly there is not even a need for quick-adjustment. (my experience; your mileage may vary) One thing that IS VERY bad though, is the OysterFlex. Nothing but lug damage when they need to be changed for resizing. Rolex should have at least incorporated slots <notches> in the OF so the dang spring bars do not have to be PRIED out with crowbars, ruining the lugs. Dumb, dumb design.

I think people have to experience the nightmare of sizing an OF model without GL. Then they'd appreciate the value of the mini-GL on OF. As for the crowd that thinks the full size GL is too bulky...they're not wrong, but they need to try the mini-GL. Game changer. |

I think it's simply a matter of the Glidelock is an absolute engineering masterpiece that was introduced and intended to be used on their full featured bracelets on their showcase watch.
I expect that Rolex will maintain the status quo until such time as they decide to permanently discontinue the DSSD. Then they'll have the option of puting it on other references without diluting their premium professional reference in any way. |

I tend to agree. I purchased my first sub six months ago and now wonder how I ever got along without the glidelock feature. I find myself making micro adjustments several times a day. Maybe I have water-retaining wrists

Why Rolex does not use glidelock in all watches?
Would be cool. Wouldn’t get used personally.
As to why? Cost reduction. Unnecessary bulk. |

Probably due to the size. It's bulky and it doesn't have the elegance of a microclasp. That said, I think it is brilliant and I use it when outside in the heat when my wrist swells. The Submariner doesn't need to be elegant.

Mini-glidelock on everything would be my preference. Can't see a downside.

When Breitling started using their spring loaded version of it some years ago on some of their divers, I expect it was an innovation. Unless someone else was doing it before Breitling. Rolex are well behind this curve, but they do engineer them beautifully.

I like to have adjustment on the fly and both the glide lock and EZ link are nice. Depending on the watch I can see why ez link works better based on the clasp.

yeah would be too long of a clasp to look normal on most other of their watches. I agree, a mini-glidelock would be perfect, with have the adjustment points as a sub
