FS: 1961 Rolex PCG 5512 with 4 Line Chapter Ring Dial
Here is a very hard to find variant of early PCG chapter ring Submariners. Not only does it have the less common four line dial, but it is the even more rare version where only one line is gilt - the other three are silver. The dial is not in perfect condition - there is slight damage to the edge at the 27 to 29 minute mark, light crazing of the entire surface, and some hand drag.. There is some loss of lume on the indices, but Francesco (darkner-imperator) from whom I bought the watch, has verified the lume is original. The hands are also original; the mercedes hand is the early flat version. The lume glows briefly on exposure to bright light, then fades quickly, as it should.
The case shows signs of very light polishing; the pointed crown guards are asymmetrical, but a little research will show this is not unusual among these early Submariners. The original, butterfly rotor 1560 movement was fully serviced in 2017. The crystal, winding crown and 7206 bracelet are not original to the watch. The fat font long 5 bezel is correct for the watch.
