Needed Perspective: How Serious are the Tudor Quality Issues?

While this is correct for Tudor, Rolex watches are quite thin and not on the thicker side. They are generally thinner than counterparts of other brands. Eg, Daytona, Submariner, Explorer I & II are all around 12-13 or less.

I have an in house Pelagos bought in 2019 and its been back to Tudor twice!! The 1st time was with a piece of the lume falling out the bezel and now the rotor is noisy and grinding when it’s winding, definitely tarnished the experience for me.

Can anyone out there give me some perspective?
The same so called issues that many Rolex have, or had, and dont believe all you read on the net Tudor is as good as Rolex.

Not serious at all
Out of all the watches they sell over the years how many have had issues in percentage terms? Likely very low. And likely only the ones with issues are posted here

Likely 99.9% of Rolex owners only buy the crown, the hype, and don't care at all about timekeeping and certainly not about any movements

Perhaps many wear there watches on the wrist because that what they was designed for, and most all today are not addicted to timegrapher daily or hourly checking.

I am just wondering if you are trying to say that they wear their watches as a fashion statement.

Would they weer the same watch if it did not show its brand name ?

Do the people who deliberately buy loRex watches (Those are the ones made in the Chinese replica factory) buy and wear them so that they look good with an expensive watch on ?

Dont forget .. There are 5 times as many loRex watches made comparisonsred to genuine Rolex watches.

Well first we do not talk about anything replica in the Rolex watch forum as well should should know, might I suggest you read and digest the forum rules. Second been wearing Rolex watches for over 50 years, and learning about the history of RWC, which is sadly lacking now. And can assure myself plus many others dont just wear the brand of any watch today. And 95% of all high end watch owners dont feel the need of constant checking there watches to the exact second 24/7 of the day, no matter the make of movement inside.

I dont know whats lacking about the history of Rolex nowadays.
I am the one behind the request for a Blue plaque (English heritage) to be placed outside Mr Wilsdorf's original offices in Hatton Garden.

As to anyone checking their watch 24/7 to check on its timekeeping, thats just plain and simply daft. No one does that. It would mean that they just stared at their watch all the time and did nothing else.
If you are attempting to comment on my using equipment to monitor how any of my watches are behaving you need to try and get some more information of exactly what I am doing and why. Simply asking me would be one way of finding out. Not everything that you think you see is as simple and clear as you think.

I'd argue rolex had had bigger issues with its 3235 and the date mag issues of low mag.

The fact OP felt compelled to ask this question about Tudor speaks volumes. To me the swapping out of the movements of modern Tudors at service also speaks volumes. They’re all good pieces until something unexpected happens to the one you own.

I'm planning to get the ceramic Black Bay at some point so I'm hoping there will be no problem with that.

ditto for me - lots of tudor ownership experience with not an issue with any of them

i have had:-

BB41 red bezel
pelagos blue dial
heritage chrono grey dial
prince date chrono
BB GMT
BB58 blue
BB58 925

no reason not to buy if you like any model in the range as as a mix of quality and price point they are very tough to beat

Tudor Pelagos lume

Purchased in February 2021 and three lume markers already missing. The watch has not had a hard time. They offered to fix it but frankly I will try to get a full refund.

I have had more than 10 modern Tudors. 2 GMT, all variants of Pelagos and a few 58s and regular Black Bays. I have never had any quality issues. One of the Black Bays with ETA-movement started running slow so I had it regulated.
