Opinions on this Tudor Big Block
I’ve been eyeing a Tudor Big Block for years now and keep postponing getting one. I started looking again and this one caught my eye (94300). Curious the opinions on this specific example by those more knowledgeable than me.

Not great pictures but it looks well used. Dial has damage.

Hands and minute markers look tarnished.

Opinions on this Tudor Big Block
I almost bought one last night. I want one but the bake bezel is my first choice, but someone has a couple, one steel and one metal bezel with #s…
I want to wait for the market to melt down, then scoop up one with the Monte Carlo dial… those are just so neat. |

Agreed. That’s why I’m asking for help on this from others with more experience than me in evaluating pics. There’s a few on my list that I've been looking at but it’s often difficult for me to notice everything in pics.

Agree sincerely regarding Monte Carlo prices: for over twenty years I've considered the prices too strong for my budget, only to see them quadruple in that time. These definitely hold value, but there are more than a few being offered with shady aftermarket and repainted dials.

With all possible respect, zapokee, they were already 5-6k at that time, believe it or not! I remember being able to buy a working, serviced Universal Geneve Tri-Compax for $1200, but passing on a Monte Carlo for $4800 because it was a TUDOR, with a not-too-exciting movement!

We'd all have bought Apple stock and gone bare-wristed. (I'd upload a photo of my Monte Carlo, but the site's silly size restrictions won't even allow a standard iPhone photo. Wonder when they'll update this 1990s forum format...) |
