1019 Milgauss!
Hey all! This is a very special watch to me. It was given to my father from his lifelong friend of over 40 years who passed away from brain cancer. My father wears it during the month he passed away each year to remember him. It is currently on a cheap rubber strap that doesn't do this beautiful 1019 justice.
So, the reason I am posting is to find out what bracelet is correct for this watch? It is dated 1963. Thanks! |

Is the crown a different color than the hour markers?

No, it’s a trick of the light due to the shape of the hour markers, here’s mine.

My 1019 is on a 78360 bracelet with 580 end links. The watch is from 1979, which is later than yours. I believe the bracelet and end links to be original.
This combo would be OK for yours if you want a correct but more modern/secure alternative. |

The original question was what bracelet would be correct for the watch and there doesn't seem to be a straightforward answer.
If the watch was sold in or around 1963 and it had a Swiss made bracelet, it probably came with a 20 mm riveted Oyster bracelet, likely to be a 7206 with 58 or 80 end links. It might also have had a bracelet made elsewhere, such as a US made C&I or a UK made WAB. A later option would be a folded link Oyster bracelet such as a 7836 with 258 end links. An even later option would be the solid link 78360 bracelet with 580 end links as noted by Zapokee to be the original fitment on his later 1019. |

You gotta love the blacked out lume dial, its so cool.
Also the 200 millisecond interval markers is pretty cool too.

The 1019 is the watch that rather scratched my itch for watches once I got one.

There was a white dial that was passed on to his other best friend in just as amazing condition. He wears for the same occasion. Cheers

Those are really nice watches. I especially like the one in post #15. Beautiful dial.
