AP Royal Oak Offshore Polaris
Why do you think this watch has significantly lower value/desirability than other AP limited editions?
It seems like most LE Offshores are selling for above the original MSRP but this beautiful version sits at a depressed value. There seems to be non-limited editions that are selling for more. Any thoughts? |

I’d hardly call it depressed, on Chrono 24 they’re between £14k - £16.5k. It’s at least a 15 year old watch that would have cost £8k - 9k when new. The ones listed appear to either have no box (which was likely to have looked more ‘special’ than the standard AP box and branded with the Team Alighni logo), or no box and no papers.
Also whilst I like the dial, I think a lot of people would find it fussy. Because it has a regatta timer it may put off potential buyers who aren’t into racing yachts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Probably the dial is what keeps some from loving it.
There's one listed in Germany as unworn, that shows the special edition box and papers. If everything is in order, it does seem like a reasonable price. |

But I see most of them selling for about $19k-$21k usd. I guess I always loved it because the first nice watch I ever fell in love with was the Royal Oak City of Sails. The Polaris I always thought to be the City of Sails big brother. |

Typical 2000s APs. They are funky.
I like them but it's completely different than the current ROOs and I think a lot of people don't like the dials and overall look. |

In 2006 the Sterling dollar exchange rate was 2 dollars to the pound so even if they were $25k that would have been £12.5k. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I've had mine since I bought it new from the dealer in 2006 or so. I forget the year. I don't wear it as much as I would like because i'm very physical and the watch is large. I always feel like I'm banging it on something. I'm trying to decide what to do with it. I love it but I don't wear it. And wearing it more isn't really practical. |

Not the same watch, but the 41mm Team Alinghi duel time... Is that the only 41mm Dual Time RO? Why doesn't AP make a 41mm gmt/dual time piece? Thoughts?
