Anyone with a glidelock clasp on a 16710?

Anyone fitted a glidelock clasp or the 97200 bracelet to their 16710?

How does it wear?

I'm having issues with the comfortability of the 16710 in the UK summer with my wrist constantly swelling.

Managed to find a glidelock clasp for sale, but not sure if it'd throw the watch off balance on the 16710?

I have the 97200 on a 16570. I wear it during the hotter months of the year.

The clasp is definitely bigger and heavier than the standard 78790A oyster bracelet clasp. When I switch, the glidelock is very noticeable for the first few days. Then I get used to it again. When it is warm I use the micro adjustments every day so it is worth it to me. When exercising, hiking, etc. it is great.

To me the Explorer II on the 78790A oyster bracelet feels natural. The glidelock is more visible and I can feel it, but it is a small downgrade to get the micro adjustments. I have a 6 3/4” wrist. It might blend in a little better if you have larger wrist.

If your wrist swells and shrink throughout the day, I highly recommend it.

Plus it gives the Red Cross somewhere to tape the tubing without pulling out any of my arm hair.

It fits, but the weight distribution will feel just a little weird until you get used it it where it actually feels a bit bottom heavy.

I have the glidelock 97200 bracelet on my 5 digit explorer II and GMT 16710. I prefer the 5 digits on heavier bracelet as the bracelet balances the lighter watch better on my wrist. I get best of the both worlds.

I’ve done it very successfully but I don’t seem to have any pics. For a long time, I felt a 97200 bracelet was perfect on the 16710.

But the 97200 is quite heavy and at this point, I do prefer a 93150. All my GMTs ride on a 93150 with one permanent link removed at 6:00. That centers the clasp and fits perfectly. I like that setup so much, I have (2) 93150 bracelets set up that way.

Now, for your situation. I saw you say you may purchase the clasp only… that may be a perfect solution. You won’t have the full, solid links, so you’ll have less total weight in the bracelet. Give it a go. I bet you’ll like it. I do love the glidelock.

As much as I love the glidelock design and system, I've grown to find it to be simply too big. I wish the clasp was just shorter with half the adjustability.

That said, I've worn it with my 16710 several times and I feel like the weight balance is off a little. Ironically I do use it to dial in the perfect fit, but I just think it's too heavy for that watch.
