I agree, some individuals want the exotic clout and their cultural interest is skin deep, using their cool item/tattoo as a differentiator. They want to look cool by the virtue of having something different. And indeed this is a bit ridiculous.

But on the other hand, you have people who, like me, really enjoy the differences that culture bring about. My Apple Watch could display non Arabic numbers and I loved it.
