I for one don't think that the OP is "flexing", or being braggadocios. He is just putting out that he spent a tremendous amount of cash in a few weeks on luxury items.

May all three watches be worn in good health.

Congratulations!!

Definitely have felt that pain...always fun making the pickup, not so much when that notice pops up that an amount is now due

Congrats OP!

Think positive. Think of the Credit Card points that you are earning. :)

I sure hope that isn’t what happens.

This thread has been a really interesting ride…!! So fascinating to watch occasional waves of negativism come up, then clearly overwhelmed by the vast majority of us, who compliment and congratulate the OP on his generosity, his new acquisition, and his sense of humor in the original post!

Bring it on!

I had one that was so crazy they did a financial review on me. Amex pissed me off and I cut them off.

I've been there and know the feeling. I've unfortunately had to pass on some quality pieces when I got the phone call because the bill was up and coming.

I've been told not to put big expenses on credit card as it can affect ones credit score. Anything above 1/3 of one's credit limit for the card, in total purchases, leads to a hit. Of course, for some there's no limit and this doesn't apply, but for some it's a consideration.

We will be eating bread and water for a few months to recover from that financial hit

Thanks to everyone who were so concerned and chimed in here

Top ramen is the route to go. Get some garlic bread for $5, and $5 worth of top ramen ( roughly 162 top ramen packets) and you’re set for a while.

Truth, been doing this for a few months since I bought my new Submariner.

This is true but if you pay if off before your billing cycle ends, it will not report to the credit bureaus.

Also, for the folks that mentioned the purchase interest by charging, sometimes it helps by calling the credit card company when you know you will buy and ask for a promotional APR purchase rate. They do give 0% on occasion for a year and you can charge it that way. During these times, not everyone has cash on hand to buy and those unexpected purchases come up. It's funny how those AD calls come in never at the perfect time. :)
