New addition to the collection, Sub Bluesy 16613 from 2007, story behind it included

Hola amigos, how are you all doing? I just got this classic sub from my dad. This watch was given to my dad by my mom in 2009 for Christmas. He’s had it ever since and wore it only a few times. My dad collects watches and has many, this one just wasn’t his style. A week or so ago he tells me he wants to sell it, I have to be honest I was hoping he would some day (far far away) he would pass it down to me. Apparently he didn’t share my romantic idea about the watch, hence why he wanted to sell it. He tells me “ we are going to leave you properties and other things a lot more valuable than a watch” for me this watch has special meaning because it was given to my dad from my mom and I am a romantic who would like to keep it in the family. I decided to buy it from him, for some cash and a PAM111 I had, he really always liked my PAM. So I guess, I am happy I was able to keep the watch in the family and even though I didn’t get it in the classic, romantic way it still came to me and it will always remind me of my mom and my dad. The watch is a full set with receipt included. Thanks for reading. Salud!

I remember seeing this watch on the freeway billboards back in the day, it’s the first Rolex I remember seeing and thinking, that’s a cool looking watch.

Great story!
I have currently have 5 Rolexes in my collection that I plan on passing down to my son and grandchildren when I get some. I am like you and appreciate the thought of passing them along to my family.

Still find it odd that he sold it to you, I mean he didn’t even pay for, it was a gift to him. Does he really need the money that bad? I guess enjoy it! Nice watch

Very cool, thanks for sharing and congrats on acquiring a great watch. That is the one that hooked me on Rolex quite a few years ago.

Thanks for the message, same with me. I remember seeing it on the freeway billboards and also at the entrances of some AD’s back in the day..
