Tudor 7016/0 "Maxi Rose" latest serial numbers.

Hi there,

A question about the Tudor "Maxi Rose" 7016/0. Does anyone know how long these were in production for? Am assuming these were at the tail end of the small rose era, but did they sell these concurrently with the snowflake?

Interested in the latest possible serials for these, and if they got up into the 73xxxx range, which seems unlikely.

They got up into the 737 range, occasionally, before going to shield briefly, and overlapping with Flakes. Most (all?) earlier BLACK flakes may be service dials. SWISS only Blue flakes can go into late 623K and did not occur with black flakes.

Let's see some photos as there are some Fake black Rose 737 which are far more common than the real Rose 737.

Thanks this is great info! That's a great find about the black flake service dials and makes sense.

Yes here's some pics. There serial is partially there; its pretty beat up but to me does feels like genuine endlink damage. The 7016/0 looks similar. Owner said he used for diving all through the 70's.

This is PRECISELY how I would expect a 737K 7016/0 Rose to look. MK3 insert (MK2 would be on I.68 7538 caseback, 625K serial and earlier), Big Bubble Sweep. Engravings are fine - IMO - All Original.


Get that 50 years of lifegunk off the case and full cleaning.

Oh man glad to hear that!

There's a great story with it as well. The guy used it diving in the Bahamas, and used it in the Navy in the 70s where he was stationed in Cuba for a while. (Was not bought in a supply store.) For me this is a total barn-find grail.

Downside is it has never been serviced or even opened, but still runs.

Great find! What’s the backstory given you are also based in Australia? Not many US navy divers residing here!

Sorry just saw this! It was for sale on US Ebay from a guy who was selling it as a "Rolex-Tudor" he got in the Navy. Took a while to figure out which model it was, and he sent me some great stories of his adventures over the years. It wasn't running well though so he'd stopped using it in the eighties and just had it in a drawer. Was expensive getting through customs into Sydney but worth it.
