16613 black bezel insert help please.....

I am referring to the 1990s black bezel inserts on the black dial 16613.

When I see what I believe are original bezels on a 1990s black dial 16613, the numbers on the bezel insert appear to be silver rather than gold. If I am correct in this, did the numbers start off silver, or have they faded to this silvery colour over the last 20-30 years?

Also if someone can post pictures of the correct original bezel insert for the 1990s I would be very grateful as I would like to establish the correct font.
