I was the same. I always preferred the black dialled Submariner date. Suddenly I felt the need for a white dIalled watch. The Explorer II (226570) just fitted the bill perfectly for me. I still have my Submariner Date but it’s my Exp II that gets all the wrist time now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My husband has an ex 2 sitting on our counter amongst some others and my SLA019 and several of his Seiko dive watches. The Seiko lume is much better. You would think Rolex could do a better job with their lume. The Omegas sitting with the group beat out the Rolex’s as well.

When my eyes have become dark adapted, the fat lumes on the Professional models I have renders the dial perfectly legible for more than 12 hours. When first charged they glow bright, same as most lumes. Once dimmer they stay lit well enough to read in darkness and semi darkness for long periods.

Interesting that the whole of the bezel of your GMT is red. Great shot, BTW. |

In my experience Rolex lume is maybe not the brightest but it is plenty bright, and more importantly, it stays bright and lasts through the night.
