Incoming...

... as the guys on the 'modern'/'current' Rolex forum like to say.

I've been on a bit of a European road trip and picked up a couple of vintage pieces I've lusted after for a while.

Lots of patina, a few dings and scrapes - and old school cool (for my tastes anyway).

Just thought I'd share.

Here's the first (more later - if anyone is remotely interested).

Nice - congratulations! I can see a bit of DNA that went into the BB58 Black in that one.

Another bearing a few 'battle scars'... the watch above's big brother... or sister... or wristwatch of undetermined gender...

Fantastic!!! Wow, wow, wow!!!!

Is the 6536 a 6536-1 close to, but just under, the 400k serial range? (I've been studying lately 6536 and early 5508 dials recently)

Love it! Makes me wonder why some in this range (late 6536-1 and early 5508) have the Red triangle 🔺️ bezel. I've seen that feature before and after. Always after 401,xxx and before 400,xxx. Makes me wonder if they were added later, in certain batches, or just for certain markets.

Anyhow, lovely watches!!!! Congratulations!

I can't answer that Doc... I thought maybe some had their bezel inserts swapped out over time... with services etc. - but I've seen 'barn find' one-owner 6536-1s with non-red triangle inserts - so I've no idea. I'm sure there are folk here much more knowledgeable than myself, who may be able to shed more light on it.

I'm very much in the 'still learning' (and enjoying 'learning') camp.

Another I just picked up...

Many, many thanks to swish77 for all his advice while I was looking (he's without doubt one of the good guys here).

It's not the very best example, it's obviously had a few polishes - but the dial is stunning and it's a full set - and for the price I managed to get it for, I'm happy.

Wow, that's really nice. I'd love to see some photos of the full set. I actually think the case looks good. Lug holes look pretty straight and there are still some nice chamfers there.

Another big congrats!

Thanks mate. Aaron isn't it?

And your help/advice was/is really appreciated.

I'll get some shots of everything when I return home.
