Tudor 7016 dial scratched during service

Hey there, just got my watch back from service and found a small scratch. Sure this is quite common as these old Tudor dials are very fragile, but has anyone had any luck repairing these kinds of scratches? Obviously its not a refinish, just a touch up of some kind?

Advice appreciated.

Love a smile dial.

I'd just put the loupe away and enjoy it. All watches will get scratched and damaged over time. Not ideal, but so many reasons to be cheerful with this one.

Isn't that the truth lol. I recently made the mistake of looking at my glossy dial 5513 with a loupe and found a scratch from service too. I curled up in a ball for a little while with cold sweats until I put things into perspective .

Thanks guys. Had bought it on the strength of the dial and the new scratch is very visible to the naked eye and bright in the sun.. Definitely ready to get zen about it.

How about share the rest of that dial with the class?

It’s a beauty, tiny imperfection and all. I would channel your inner Monty Python, (‘‘tis a wee scratch!)

"tis but a scratch" and also "the damage doesn't look as bad from out here" are good quotes that help me accept what has happened. Thanks for the needed dose of realness.

Yeah I wouldn’t worry about that mark too much though question the watchmaker on how he did that.

Nice lollipop seconds hand!

Delightful, and with the big lollipop hand, too . These were often replaced with a smaller lollipop at service.

Selling mine is one of my watch regrets. But on the positive side, I did use the funds to buy a Milgauss 1019.

How about getting a proper Oyster bracelet for that beauty?

Yes it survived pretty well, I think it was last serviced in 1972. Guessing those hands were pretty tough to pull off after all those years.

Forgot to mention, it came with its original c&i rivet bracelet, this is in for servicing at the moment with Rolliworks. Wish I'd sent the watch there too now..

Slightly off-topic but could someone pls confirm for me the tudor hour hand proportions?

For the Rolex equivalent, the thickness of the circle vs the inner three bars should be the same but I'm starting to notice that for some of the Tudor equivalent, that rule of thumb doesn't apply? (either that or i need to get my eyes checked!) I'm seeing thicker circle than the 3 bars.

Great spotting. I looked up a few 7928s and 7016s and they have thinner inner bars as far back as 1964. Wonder what the story is there?
