Can luminova be removed?

Pics attached of my 1978 5513, pre and immediately after being under a uv light with 3rd pic 20 minutes later when it's dimming.
I assume this means hands and dial have been relumed with luminova, is there anything that can be done to remove it?
I expect it's not possible without causing damage but just wondered if anyone knew of a specialist?

I have to say working lume plots and hands are a wonderful thing in the dark. It's a nice vintage watch with updated lume, and nothing wrong with that unless you paid a premium for an all original watch. I am assuming this is a recent purchase? If so, send it back for a refund and get a tritium version or a refund if luminova was not in the original description. I don't think I would re-lume. Only other way to correct this would be to find a period correct dial and hand set to swap out what you have, which will be expensive. IMHO…

Wait for the experts. I'm not one of them.

It was a recent purchase, priced at the bottom end along with service dial watches

I have just found The Alchemist, he says he can do it no problem, has done them before, seems to have a good reputation on the forums, must be worth it for £200

James is a lovely guy and quite frankly a magician with lume.
His work is faultless. Discuss with him what you want and listen to his recommendations.

Dial and hands might be luminova service items, rather than relumed.

I didn't know they did a replacement service dial that still looked like the mk1 maxi dial.
I assume hands are service replacement.
Have booked to go and see James next week, sounds very promising
