Personally I consider 4 digit serial numbers to be vintage, 5 digit classic.

I used to sit here as well but given the passage of time since I first formed that view and the fact that it's about the watch and not the reference, I put 5 digits into the vintage category now generally if they're more than 20 years old. After all 20 years is a generation.
