Tudor sports classic

Hi, I bought a Tudor sports hydronaut classic (20010) but the serial number is 8700XX which means it produced in 1978. I have check the movement and the dial and case doesn't give me the impression is fake...

But this 20010 series started only in the early 2000. How can the serial number be in 8700XX series? Is the serial number fake?
