Bugs me too but when/if you get a good setup on the bracelet it won't bother you as much. Took me two tries at the AD on my SBGA001 but it fits MUCH better now and I haven't felt the need for a micro adjustment since the resizing. Don't be afraid to get it resized if you aren't satisfied with the fit.

GS refuses to acknowledge this pervasive issue across their entire brand.

It's ok, just get a strap. That's the common solution for all their watches.

At this point, I will be forced to remove the half-cell and install the entire link. In the morning (after a shower), the watch will have minimal play, while in the evening it will fly over your entire wrist. Maybe someday I'll think about a strap, although I prefer bracelets. In terms of comfort, the Jubilee from Rolex is unbeatable.

That's the same thing I did. I removed a half and added a whole. But keep in mind the "half" is really more of a 2/3 link by length, so by making the switch you are only adding roughly 1/3 of a link. For me it was perfect and made all the difference. I can handle slightly loose from time to time, but too tight I cannot deal with.

This is the secret sauce to adjusting a GS bracelet. The so-called "1/2 link" is really a "2/3 link" (a full link is 10mm and a 1/2 link is 6.5mm), so replacing a full link with a 1/2 link reduces the length by 3.5mm. Replacing a full link with two 1/2 links increases the length by 3mm. The micro adjustments on my GMT II Rolex bracelet are 3.5mm apart so it offers no finer a solution than what GS provides for by playing put and take with 1/2 and full links. Two of the most beautiful watch bracelets (IMHO) are the AP Royal Oak and the PP Nautilus and both deal with bracelet length the same way (no micro-adjustment) - using full and (if necessary) 1.5 links to get fine adjustments. Neither supplies 1.5 links but sell them to owners for (give or take) around $200.

I've always found it easier to adjust a metal bracelet than a strap. I have a beautiful leather strap for a vintage Patek (that was my father's grail watch) but the holes are 7mm apart which is way too coarse to get a good fit for me. I have a second strap where I punched extra holes but end up with nothing finer than the 3mm increment that I can get with a GS bracelet; but the extra holes look like c**p.
