"Dive Provenance" on a Sea Dweller

Hi,

First time poster on here. I'm hoping to build more of a watch collection having started with Omega (discontinued Aqua Terra 2503.33.00 then a Globemaster Annual Calendar). Keen to buy a dive watch and seems that Rolex is the place to go for this...have looked at no date sub but settling upon Sea Dweller (ideally 116600).

It's one that I'd look to keep in the longer term, and I've noticed a few for sale with 'Dive Provenance'. I'm undecided on whether it having been used in this way (even though this is the intended use) vs careful land-based use is a negative or a positive!

I'd be interested in your thoughts - more likely to fail / have excessive wear or more collectable?

Best wishes,

Niall
