114060 repairs

Hello all. I put on my no date sub and went to lunch today. I later notice it wasn’t running so I took it off, gave it a few shakes and nothing. Tied a few more times only to learn it’s not working. Called me AD and they said it starts at $1100 for repairs. Anyone have any input? Where are you having repairs done? AD also said it will come back polished.

Any advise or input would be great.

Side note I bought this in 2016 and it’s had no service done

I highly suggest you get it done via AD. $1100 sounds reasonable. I know it’s $1,000 for regular servicing on sub.

RSC or LA Watchworks since you're in SoCal. Good luck with it.

Yeah $1100 right out the gate is quite expensive. Skip the AD and get in touch with Rolex service directly. There’s one in Beverly Hills. $750 is the base service cost plus Andy new parts it might need. You’ll mail it directly to Rolex. Using the AD tacks on some extra time. Best of luck with it!

You said you gave it "a few shakes".

Did you try winding it with the crown?

How many winds did you give it? Any odd sensation when winding? Can you hear anything when winding?

hi, I live in LA, and did dropped off my Rolex to get case refinish at LA watchwork. Their work is better than ok, but not Rolex standard, in addition , They are real blood sucker! they called me 2 times after my drop off, to increase price... and additional $50 at the time of pick up for "pressure test" which was originally quoted for free...... will never go there again!

When in 2016 did you buy it?

Sending it to RSC is probably your best bet. You can choose whether or not you want the watch polished should it need/get a full overhaul.

Four Crowns in the jewelry district in DTLA did my 114060 last year. Sounds like similar problem. Broken main spring. I think I paid $575 and watch came back looking like new. Nice guys. They used to work ay BH RSC. You can also take it to Santa Monica Boutique for service there.

RSC only, cut out the middle man AD so you deal directly with them.
The RSC will not communicate with you if the watch was sent through an AD.

Upon receipt of your watch they sent you a written proposal with must do and recommended jobs.
I like my watches polished by the RSC, they do a stellar job and the watch comes back looking brand new.

This is the advice. Call RSC in Dallas and get the process moving. Forget your AD as you will pay to have them do it more than the RSC. Good luck.

Hey OP, I recently had the same exact issue with my 2007 GMT.
I sent it to RSC NYC for repair/service. My cost was just over $1200 and included new hands, a new crown and bezel. Even though I requested at time of repair approval to know why it just stopped they would not provide that info.
I just got my watch back about 10 days ago and it looks and works like new.
Good luck!

Why not use the winding crown thats what its for if it did not start after full manual wind around 40 full turns clockwise only, possible mainspring could be broken.

Thanks everyone.. The service centers are closed until 1/3/22... Ill take it there when they reopen. Based on what Ive found, seems like the main spring is broken.
