I don't even want to deal with ADs anymore when it comes to Rolex anymore. At this point I'd rather go to a great dealer and if I can justify the premium just buy it. Because ADs just play games. They don't sell watches anymore.

That's what GP does.

Either sell directly online or DUMP on the grey market immediately after production so they don't have to have any marketing campaigns...

Well she just works there. Not all SAs have any passion.

The cases here at ADs are totally empty. Somebody bought all those lady DJs.

GP watches would be a true grey market if dumped by the maker outside their AD network directly to other outlets. Do these greys come with full factory warranty?

SAs need to learn some tact in spite of the pressure. It won't always be a seller's market. I know it's tough as many customers are probably rude to the SAs when they find out nothing is available.

This is the advantage of dealing with a small city AD in the American south. They may not have anything to sell in terms of Rolex, but they're always polite and if you want to browse their Tudor selection, they're happy to have you.

They will also let you try on exhibition models from the safe before they're allocated.

For equally bad service, or even worse, go to their store on 57th Street NYC. HORRIBLE.

(i did have a good experience in Las Vegas though)

Impeccable customer service at Bucherer on 57th. Great staff.

Well, it's a seller's market only on a few brands and some of their models. Good to keep that in mind.

Though, I think I get it. I'm not saying that this is the right way to treat a customer, but I can only imagine how many "typical" mall shoppers window shop in their store where they have to answer the same uninformed questions over and over every day. Honestly, I felt bad for the guy. I was checking out the NTTD SMP; I asked a few quick questions and noticed his total disinterest. I then cut the conversation short and left, because I could tell he wasn't enjoying it.

Not a great experience, but it's right before the holidays, and I'm sure he's burnt out.
I imagine it is hard for the SAs, not only do they have to say no a lot but someone who works on commission not being able to earn commission would be tough. I'm sure it's not fun to work for free. Other than charity work, I'm not sure many on this forum would be willing to do it. I feel for them.

Starts about 24:00 in.

Put on CC as the volume is low.

Not sure about the warranty though through grey market though.

I was in the Tourneau in Boston

They had a 16570 with a sea dweller bracelet extension on it

The whole operation is a mess

Should have nothing to do with our love of watches. Have you noticed what’s going on around us aside from watch retailers? Have you tried to hire anyone lately? This kind of cluelessness is nothing new but at the moment the surprise is rather that there was anyone at all to hand you the catalogue.
I went skiing today (the world may as well fall apart in style, right?). The ski area next to the one I went is pretty much still closed. They don’t have personell to operate the snow canons and do other tasks

I get the current climate. No excuse for pathetic customer service, especially in a store selling luxury goods.

They’ve been acquired by Bucherer. Why they haven’t cleaned house yet is a good question. Probably because of the overall sad state of the watch industry support in the US. No qualified people anywhere to be found.

Their redesign of the Timemachine store is quite impressive. Beyond that Wempe and Watches of Switzerland are superior in every way.

Which Tourneau location?. I have had good experience with the one close to me. They even let my 10 year old try on watches. Everytime we walk by the store he wants to go in say hi and look at the watches. They have actually cultivated his interest in watches.

Tourneau really is the worst. I thought I made progress with one sales associate but he ended up constantly trying to bait & switch two tone variants. He called me saying he found me the Sea Dweller I was on his list for. Got all excited only to be disappointed when he brought out the two tone. I can understand an honest mistake but the did this to me twice even after asking model # on the phone.

The silver lining was after sharing my horrible experience to some people, I got connected to a proper AD with great referral from long time customer. They got me my Sea Dweller within two weeks.

Moral of the story Fike Tourneau but never give up!
