If I do not express interest in other models, would that hurt my chances in anyway? In other words, they would think I don’t want to establish a relationship with them other than via RO etc?

Good question. Is that how you felt? Sometimes a verbal conversation is in order, because it's easy to read something one way, and someone else read it a different way...

You can tell them that after 15500ST, you plan to get 26331ST/26239ST also, so they will think that you will be a long time clientele. Those models will not come that easy so you will have time to make a decision later.

Could be. It could also be because they are seeing if you are amenable to another watch that they might be able to source quicker?

I would just be truthful. They aren’t asking for no reason, whatever that reason may be. Is it a boutique? An affirmative answer is what they would like, I’m sure, but dishonesty will spoil everything.

Asking for a 15500 only, you're not exactly giving your SA much to work with when it comes to discussing allocations at the boutique level.

Yes. I just went to the AP Boutique in Singapore and inquire for a ROC 38mm SS and the salesperson asked me to indicate interest for a Code and RO PM pieces before she could allocate me the ROC SS. She also told me that if I purchase from the boutique, I am not supposed to flip.

My guess is they are being sincere about trying to get you something while also trying to understand how hard they should work on doing exactly that.

This is a suggesting a package ‘deal’ however way you want to dress it.

I think it makes sense to see if customers want anything else and if it's easier for them, they'll try to get you that one.

Not saying you lied, but I doubt that’s what happened. AP boutiques in Singapore (not AD) train their staff well to not spout such practices
