That sucks! Hopefully you'll find it. But I just can't understand how can you loose a watch without taking it off? And you were wearing gloves? Even tough the clasp would open (weird) it just can't slip over the gloves accidentally. Springbar broke? Possibility is one in a billion. :) But of course it is possible. I don't know man, this is very weird.

Know someone who lost their Rolex playing golf in Canada and was found two years later, turned into the Pro Shop and soon after reunited with owner. There is always hope.
Hope you find it long before that.

OP sorry to hear. 2 weeks after I got my watch I felt a scratch at my wrist and noticed a pin had come loose. AD adjusted the watch for me at purchase. Possibly you had a pin come loose.

I am sorry for your loss. Hopefully, you were insured. Since it was lost in the snow, it seems not likely to be found, but you never know. I would definitely put the word out and with Rolex.

Just a few more basics to cover off on (and apologies if I sound like Captain Obvious)

Lodge a report with the local police. Probably have to any way with filing an insurance claim.

Get in touch with the local pawn shops in case anyone who finds it is looking at make a quick buck.

Lost my watch today

My sister lost a custom made one of its kind diamond ring while doing backcountry ski. She cried her eyes out for it as it was a very special thing.
Spring came in and then summertimes, a cousin was hiking in the area where the ring was lost, he remembered that and decided to have a look.
To his disbelief, he saw a sparkling light on top of a rock, he couldn’t believe his eyes, the ring was there stone up reflecting sunlight.
When he brought the ring back home, she just couldn’t believe it.
Miracles do happen, hope OP’s watch will be somehow retrieved.

Thank you everyone. Appreciate all the ideas and kind words. Getting ready to head out soon with my 3 kids and wife to start looking and my buddy and his wife will be meeting us with his metal detector. Hopefully it turns up today. Will keep everyone posted as to what happens today.

I really really am wishing you find it soon bro! If not. Well shit like this happens sadly — even to most avid collectors. I was once about to lose it. And a very well intentioned man returned the watch a 116610LN

I feel sorry for you, OP. It's terrible. I had a screw coming lose in my 116622. Fortunately I felt it digging on my wrist side before it was too late but if it wasn't for that, I might have lost it that day.

I really hope you find it soon and wish you the best of luck.

So in a panic I drove back around to places I was and am on my way to another. What a horrible feeling. No one I’ve spoken with understands a man and his watch so figured I would post here. This blizzard is not helping the situation either.

Wow that's horrible to hear! At least you can file an insurance claim and buy a new one. It won't replace the original but you will be happy once more

Been searching one area for a little over 2 hours now with a metal detector and there are 8 of us looking. Heading to next spot soon. At least it’s sunny today but very cold at 13 degrees.

Thanks again everyone.

OP, best of luck to you. I hope the weather works in your favor. It may be harder to find, at least it will be harder to see to a passer by.

Really hope you get your watch back. Another suggestion, if y’all have them up where you live, is to post on your neighborhood list serve. There are good people out there and things do show up on occasion - my wife and I found something like three wallets in a week last year and got them all back to their owners.

Sounds like a spring bar dislodged from all the activity. Probably the inner spring was a little weak from the factory. Sorry to hear this. Hope you find it.
