If true, and I have no info, just speculation, bet they drop the AP logo and harmonize the logo with the applied full name like on chrono.

Just remember, the white dial is the true gem of the 15500 collection because it was produced for less than 2 years. If the line is indeed discontinued, i expect the white dial to command the highest premium.

I hope it’s not discontinued. If it does I don’t think any color matters more than the blue. 2 vs 3 years of production, that’s very short either way

Hey! I remember there was a post you made about the 15500ST going above 100k or something (iirc) this year! I guess you are vindicated!
Whatever happens, I’m not selling mine. If the 16500 or whatever it’s called does not have the ‘AP’ logo and instead follow the 15550 design language with the ‘Audemars Piguet’ lettering, the dial would look too plain.

These standard models basically get updated with minor changes and new reference numbers as you know (15400, 15500 etc). I dont know what kind of “discontinuation” premium exists with these over the new models. I still prefer the 15400 over the 15500.

Im never selling mine either because i simply love it to death. And i think its the best color of the bunch. AP has done such a great job with these new releases that im sure whatever the replacement is, will be awesome as well.

I agree 15400 is much better. As I said before 15500 is the worst of the Royal Oak references

I slightly prefer the fine detail of the 15400 dial but saying the 15500 is “the worst of the Royal Oak references” is, frankly a bit much in my humble opinion.

HQMilton has a 15400 blue listed for $68,950. I wonder why the blue 15400 would lag the 15500 prices so much.

Also not sure how what the market for the 15300 looks like these days.

Now that the 15510 is out, I surely wouldn’t say 15500 is the ugliest lol

Jokes aside, I’m really not a fan of the sans-AP-logo dial and the 50 years rotor….

15500 has got way better movement. In house and case movement proportion is perfect. Plus fewer years in production only 3 and rumor has it, it’s already discontinued.
