Panda 26315 discontinued?

With the new 26715 line coming out, the steel grey dial variant still exists but the only panda variant is the light blue baguette bezel reverse panda. Will they be discontinuing the 26315 line?

I love my panda (white dial / blue subdials) so glad I got it when I did.

I'm curious about this myself.

Are they entirely replacing previous lines with these 50th anniversary editions? (With the exception of the officially and already announced discontinuation of the 15202.)

That would be my guess since the grey dial version is nearly identical, and the case back is closed (no 50th Ann rotor to show). But it seems odd it hasnt been addressed.

They may just gradually phase it out like they are with 41mm models. Makes no sense to have 2 separate 38mm chronos with differences in case and dial details

Did they officially state that they're gradually phasing out the 41mm 26239 models in favor of the new 41mm 26240 models?

Or is it a sudden end like when Rolex ends things?

I’m wondering this as well. The 26239 wasn’t around very long either.

Panda 26315 discontinued?

The 26315/26331 still show up on AP’s website alongside the 2022 models. Gradual phase out is my guess

Had same question. Several better informed collector friends are telling me it’s discontinued - though it is still on their site.

Yes. If you were on the list you get rotated to the new white model. Can’t change colors. ( at least I can’t…)

you're referring the 41mm ROC right?
  • 26331 blue/silver gets rotated to 26240 blue/blue
  • 26331 black/silver gets rotated to 26240 black/black
  • 26331 white/black gets rotated to 26240 white/white
26240 green/green is new color scheme

For the 26315 panda 38mm ROC, i would guess
  • 26315 white/blue gets rotated to 26715 blue/blue
  • 26315 grey/grey gets rotated to 26715 grey/grey

Why can’t you change colour?

Yes. I was on the panda 41 and am rotated to the new « golf ball » 41 chrono.

Because according to the SA (not mine, a random one), I should already be happy to be on the list. Ah and also, no 50y/o model for me. Those are for the VIPs. So nothing in 2022 from AP for little me.

I’m sure people with multiple CODEs can freely change though…

I disagree. See how asymmetrical the date window is against 4 and 5 indexes.

It’s perfectly centered between the sundials. In the new reference the date window awkwardly intrudes on the seconds track and looks it’s falling off the dial.

Appears the white dial on my rose gold has been discontinued as well?

It looks that way. Appears most of the pandas are going the way of the dodo bird.

It's not just new dial, but there also seem to be subtle differences in case size and bracelet taper (and maybe the bezel facets). That makes it seem unlikely that AP would produce the two models side-by-side.

That's a great point.

I wish there was more of an official statement though (similar to Rolex or Patek discontinuations).

Too bad they removed 'AP' logo and 'automatic' wording on the new dial!

Agree, however having seen the chronos in the flesh, the applied writing logo letters stand out since they are 3D so the Audemars Piguet signature offers a nice volume and qualitative feel.
