1803 Bracelet Crown clasp logo is off center. Fake?
Hello,
I just bought a DD 1803 from a seller on chrono24. Overall I'm happy with the watch, but upon further inspection I noticed that the clasp crown is off center (see picture below). Typically the guidance is to expect perfection from Rolex and any imperfection suggests that the item is fake, so I wanted to post some pictures here to get more input. As far as I can tell, it's quite hard to find a fake bracelet with as much detail as the bracelet that I have. It also seems to be quite an oversight for a counterfeiter to miss. https:// imgur . com /a/xfoyfen (plz remove the spaces) In the first picture, you can see the crown is slightly off to the right and doesn't point straight up but instead points slightly to the left. I also included other pictures of the bracelet. Thanks! |

The most telling indications that this is a replica bracelet are the stampings/engravings on the clasp and the shape of the slot where the other part of the clasp engages.
The OP's bracelet doesn't have a model number/Swiss hallmarks and the slot doesn't have the right shape, so it doesn't look like a genuine Rolex made one to me. There are always genuine ones for sale on the Internet from good jewelers and they nearly always provide photos of the clasp so you'll be able to compare the two and see the differences. My guess is this is one of the replica replacement bracelets that were made in Italy. |

Oh wow! I did look at a bunch of pictures online of the authentic one but I completely missed the difference at the place where the clasp engages with the other part as you pointed out. In all the authentic ones, when flipped over you can see where the clasp engages but in my bracelet, it's hidden from view.
Thanks for the pointer! |
