Can you tell me something more about this Rolex?
Hi everyone, this is my first post!
I wanted to ask you if you can tell me something about this Rolex? I remember I saw it at an auction and in fact, I saved this image. Unfortunately, I can't find that auction anymore and I'm quite fascinated by it... at least enough to try to buy it ;) |

Looks like a non-original dial.
Back in the 1920's. both Gruen and Rolex owned equal shares in the Aegler movement company. Both Rolex and Gruen produced similar looking watches, the Curvex, and the Prince series, and they both used the same movement. It would take some research to know what this watch was originally, but if it's authentic that should be the era.

Rolex Prince Brancard. Probably model 1490. Looks like a redial, but better pictures would help.

OP, Here is my 1938 Gruen doctors watch. Notice the quality of printing on the dial compared to yours. I’m quite sure yours is a redial based on the crude printing.
