Best place to find a 6694

I'm tired of big watches and recently got the urge to find an older 6694 with a black dial that I would like to make my daily wear.

I spent a few hours cruising around online. In today's market, what should I expect to pay and where is the best place to start looking for one?

I think you could find something decent in the range of $3k-$4k, depending on how patient you are and who you want to buy from (dealer, collector, auction). Like anything vintage, there is no particular place to look. You have to look everywhere. If you have just started looking, you have mainly seen all the crappy, over-priced, and frankenized pieces that have been listed for months and passed up by everyone else. When something good comes up at a fair price, it's gone quickly.

I too have been causally looking for a 6694 lately. I have a 5500 AK and love the way it wears, and have always wanted to add an Oysterdate to the stable alongside it. Like you said Dan, there seems to be a sea of franken examples out there unfortunately.

That was my first Rolex. Sold it for way too little money. Really wish I still had it.

Seems to be everyones first Rolex. I had a silver dial model but sold it to upgrade. Back when you could pick up one in near perfect condition with box and papers for around $1200. Those were the good ol' days. Unfortunately, that was only a few years ago (2016).

That creamy Tudor Small Rose on the beads-of-rice bracelet is quite something.

Chrono24 is a great website to look.
Lot's of watches listed and it looks like it has good buyer protection.

You can also go to watchcharts . com

A 34mm is a nice way to go.
