Solid linked Rolex jubilee to fit Datejust 1603?
I've recently purchased my first Rolex, a datejust 1603 blue sigma wideboy, and I just love it (photo below).
The original jubilee is too short for my 22cm (8.7") wrist, and as I think it's original to the watch, I'd like to preserve it anyway. What jubilee bracelet number is the most modern that will fit a 1603? I know the 62510 jubilee with 555 endlinks will fit, but only half of those links (well 3/5ths) are solid. Is there a fully solid linked bracelet that will fit? If so, can I use my 55 endlinks, or do I need another type? |

The above was my 10th post, so now I can finally post a pic.

You would need to have to have the endlinks custom fit to one of the newer solid link bracelets.
Plenty of 62510's around though. You can even get new ones from the mothership.

I realize this isn't your question, but do you have an actual concern with 62510 bracelets? Or do you just not like them? They have been used successfully for decades, they are readily obtainable, and would be an appropriate replacement for your watch.

I agree with Dan. 62510 are great bracelets and even the ones from 1970s. well, assuming they are not too stretched out. However, you mentioned '55' end links - they were not for the 62510, but rather for 6251 (please correct me if I'm not correct).
If you do have '55' end links, I would search out a nice condition oval or folded link bracelet and enjoy the watch as it was intended. Vlad |

I've got no real problem with 162510, just was wondering if there was something better.
55 endlinks is what is on the original jubilee. I believe I'll need 555 endlinks for a 162510, is that correct? Last edited by Kram In Oz; 7 February 2022 at 07:45 AM.. Reason: size was tiny for some reason? |

555 end links are the ones for 36mm case DJ's and the like.

yes, for d-link 20mm bracelets. and I believe 455 are as well. for the older ones, 255 for folded and 55 for oval
someone with deeper knowledge than me, please correct me if I'm wrong. Also, can someone explain the difference between 455 and 555. related to the topic, 455 (555) vs 455b (555b) - just found an old thread: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=388596 |

I don't know what you consider "better", but in terms of other options, I think that the engine-turned bezel DJs look fine on oyster bracelets.

Thank you everyone for your help.
Dan S I have considered an oyster bracelet, as I do prefer the look. Only I hope one day to add a sports model to the collection, so I'll reserve the oyster for that watch. I'll keep the jubilee for the 'dress watch', seems like the classic choice for a DJ. |
