I think this is the original listing on eBay.

@overgrower: Yes, that is the original listing on eBay. Good detective work. I’ll never do a transaction outside of a reputable website again. eBay is not such a place. It’s just too gigantic for them to police it.

Has anyone here used their “authenticity guarantee” on a watch purchase yet?

What a piece of shiz this seller is. He has other watches for sale. Anyone look to see if his Tudor bb is legit? These guys are a cancer to the hobby

You are very fortunate to get most of your money back.

His other listings look legit so maybe he was at least attempting to be honest. I think I have reported that one as fake before.

Don't know, Harry. The other watches look legit on initial inspection.

Avendlerdp - I have an older but very legit & serviced, original 1964 Gilt Track Silver Print coming up for sale ; )

Hopefully “most of your money back” was just $10 less from what you paid.

Sadly a bit worse than that but good enough that I'm going to forget about this "incident" pretty soon!!

Don’t mean to resurface and hijack the thread, but I am in a similar position. This would be my first Tudor so I can only go by web pic references. Do you think this is legit or fake also?

OK. So as I suspected the seller is a decent guy. He was, like me, too ready to overlook the watches flaws because it runs so well and pretty much looks the part unless you know a lot.

After some polite discussion we arrived at a solution where he sent me back most of my money and I kept the watch. Why? Because shipping and doing all that takes time and seeing a big fraction of my money returned was a bird in the hand. Lessons are often expensive and this one was pretty cheap all told.

So now I have what I shall call the "Fauxflake". If it didn't say "Tudor" on the face it would be a pretty nice generic daily beater. It holds a few seconds a day and has at least a 24 hour power reserve (still running it down). My new plan is to replace the face with an unbranded one and wear this thing to the beach or whatever.

Thanks so much for the amazing wealth of knowledge on the forum. BTW I am still in the market for a real Tudor Sub. Can be a less vintage post-snowflake model but authentic this time!
Good for you! I guess the seller knew what he was selling...
