AP Visits and New Rubber
Visited AP House London on 2 occasions recently, to collect a rubber strap for my 15500ST and then to collect after warranty service and getting to try out some of the new models.
Enjoy the journey! All starts with this ominous plaque on Bond St, And welcomed at reception, Welcome drinks Here’s my 15500ST before strap change And the after. Absolutely loving the rubber, makes it look like a completely different piece, like a baby OffShore. Also opted for the deployment clasp My wife tried on the 34mm 77351ST, she’s looking to acquire her first AP this year hopefully, The only piece they had to try on this trip was a funky purple Code Chrono, admittedly not my taste Now for second trip, to collect my 15500ST after full warranty service due to performance issues, And got to try on 3 new pieces, 1st the new 41mm ROC 26240ST Th new dark blue 15550ST And my fav of the bunch by far, new Jumbo 16202OR with smoked black dial. This is truly a stunning piece in person, As always, staff in AP house are amazing, very welcoming, realistic and great to chat to. Here are some more pics of the new rubber and also pricing for the set for those considering. Prices in GBP and it certainly is cheap but definitely worth it imo. Small steel plots x 4 = £192 Rubber strap = £370 Deployment clasp = £650 Total = £1212 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

omg i didn't know you can order a rubber strap and deployment. I always wanted a rubber strap, but felt the offshore was too bulky. I wanted it to be more similar to my aquanaut, elegant x sport.

Did you have a choice between a deployment clasp or tang buckle? I’ve heard some complaints about the deployment clasp being uncomfortable and conflicting reports about the possibility of hanging a tang buckle on the 15500

Great report. Does anyone know if they make the deployant in white or rose gold?

Yup, RG is 40k HKD. Price might be different in your area...

+1 to the rubber deployment strap for the 15500! I like it as well for the summer months, the steel against your skin tends to get very sweaty if you’re in a humid warm environment.
Definitely changes the look of the watch completely, great to wear for a few months and then switch back to stainless in the fall! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

AP will say tang doesn't fit, but it does, so just buy anyways. (Just be careful that Code tang is not the same as the old tang because the toungue is square instead of rounded).

Must admit, the deployment isn't as comfortable as I would like because I have small wrists and the metal does sit the side a bit rather than directly underneath the wrist. If you have larger wrists than will sit a bit more natural. But after wearing for a month, it's definitely ok to live with! |

Looks great! I’ve been thinking about potentially adding a rubber strap but now that I’ve seen your pictures, i think it’s time to drop by AP.

Great post. I'd only add that the watch looks great and Rubber B makes an AP rubber strap without the need for plots/buckle & would love to see any comparison shots out there

I think the clasp/buckle is replaced with a folding velcro system no? I can't get on board with any AP and velcro. G shock, maybe.

I have it on tang on my 15500, It's way more comfortable and feels like my aquanaut.

All this talk about a deployment makes me think of Arnold Schwarzenegger in Commando
