15 sports watches so far this year for an AD seems high to me. We are talking about roughly three weeks with the mid-January start-up in deliveries.

Recently visited an AD and saw pictures of a delivery from last week and 3 weeks prior to that. Definitely a good amount of stainless steal professional models. I honestly only saw a few precious metal pieces. Both deliveries I saw an op36 turquoise. Saw a handful of sub dates too. A little jaded though because I saw a model I wanted and was thinking “why wasn’t I contacted.” Lmao.

Think that sums it up well. I doubt that anyone can really rely upon these "lists" or draw any inferences from delivery scheduled etc. ADs are most likely to move in whatever "direction" best suits them.

The second time was a little more interesting. I went into an AD at the mall that sells multiple brands. While looking at the Omega display the sales dude came over for assistance. I told him I was thinking about getting a Seamaster because I knew I had no chance of ever getting a Sub. He kind of laughed, admitted it's a tough order, and asked why I thought a Sub would never happen. So I was straight up with the guy. Told him I'm not VIP and never will be, I'm never going to buy a bunch of jewelry in the place to establish history, and that it would probably be the last Rolex I'd ever buy. For good measure I did add that I'm a local and he'd never see the watch on ebay if he sold me one lol. I then asked him how long the list was for a Sub. He said that they no longer keep lists because if they put every inquiry on a list of some sort it would be like a fifteen year backlog. I then asked how they determine who gets a call. He said that when hot models come in the manager has a rotation of which salesperson it goes to to sell. Then it's up to that salesperson to decide what customer to call. He added that phone or email inquiries don't even get written down and have exactly zero chance; only in person-visitors are ever considered. Kidding around a little I said, Well hell man you should call me the next time you're up. He laughed and said he'll see what he could do. I gave him a compliment about the sweet Reverso he was wearing and we proceeded to chat watches for ten or fifteen minutes or so. I left without buying anything and without any high hopes or anything, but figured it was worth a shot. To my extreme surprise a little under three weeks later he called and offered me a 124060 Sub, which I picked up that very day. Out of curiosity I asked him why he offered it to me. He looked around a little to make sure no one was in earshot and kind of whispered, Because I enjoyed our chat and you don't seem like an asshole . Kind of rambling now but the point is there's more than one way to get allocated a Rolex. Without buying 50K worth of earrings no one wants. |

I received my Sub about two weeks ago from a relatively small AD. He told me before Christmas that 2022 allocations wouldn’t start until mid-late January so no sense in touching base until then. Don’t know how much stock they’re getting, but it’s definitely coming in.

I feel like I’m not getting the full story on the 126655 I have a deposit with a local small AD. Said it was one of the last 126655s Rolex would take on order vs allocation. Previous buyer backed out after some financial trouble and I was next and they said my name is on the order with Rolex. They have had a 50% deposit since September. I stopped by last week and they said their January shipment was only 2-3 watches but a case full of exhibition only models. I feel like I am getting the run around but was told that the watch is mine with my name on it and it can’t be sold to anyone else as my name is already on file with Rolex for this watch.

rule number one - never pay a deposit for any Rolex watch (excluding insane custom designs that would be very hard to sell if you default on purchase) you are just giving the AD an interest free loan |
