For those who hate Rolex

I like her wearing mechanical watch on left wrist and apple watch on right.
Found this video to be interesting. Decide to share here on TRF. Hope you enjoy it:

Saw this earlier. She answers her own question at 18:45.

The issue is the new Rolex only or Rolex are the best instafans being the main gripe.

If she were only a Rolex collector, she would not be a ‘watch’ collector, she'd be a Rolex collector. Just like a Mustang only collector isn’t a car collector, but rather a Mustang collector.

That’s kinda the issue that can rub many watch watch collectors the wrong way. Because collectors of watches are a broad interest community, with a focus on most all things watches and many brands, who intelligently discuss and debate and sometimes act like morons about the complexities of the hobby. And I do like and agree with her take on many watch matters but this video was a bit of a this and a bit of that take. Not really a hot take.

She must also recognize and know Rolex isn’t what it was which got it where it now is, and that’s fine. But she also can’t be pigeonholed into being a Rolex only billboard or she loses credibility and risks being a one trick influencer.

Imop, just wear what you like but also be open minded to look at other aspects of true ‘watch’ collecting and not just single brand collecting.

Skimmed through most of it but the last chapter was very well summed up.

I can relate to the “people skipping the line by paying grey”. One thing most of us do have here in common is a love of watches.
