BEWARE! Fake Listing in the TRF Classifieds

This is my first encounter with a supposed scam here, so I hope I am doing this correctly.


I have been messaging back and forth with the seller of this watch. We came to an agreement, and I asked for a picture proving ownership.

He told me he would only send that AFTER I paid for "security reasons." Obviously I'm not going to do that so I pressed him to send the pics, but he has since ignored me.

Initially I thought maybe he was annoyed with me for pressing, but I decided to check out the images in his listing located here: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=842205

And it just so happens they are the exact same images from a listing from two years ago posted on another site here:

Which appears to be a listing from TRF, suggesting this seller simply went through old threads and lifted the pics in an attempt to sell something he doesn't own.

I honestly hope I am wrong, but I have seen too many red flags here to not raise concern.

Yeah, sucks for guys like me. I'm in France for work for the next 6-8 months and looking for a seller in the EU so I don't have to pay 20% VAT... Not easy.
