Not sure why anyone needs to know the date. Are you guys still writing checks or something? I can easily remember the date if I think for more than five seconds.

Just one less thing to set if you switch between multiple watches. Plus they look more symmetrical without a date and don’t have the cyclops.

I was testing equipment on the 10th and wrote the 11th on all the certificates for that day
In my defence I was wearing my 14060. In any event don’t think anyone in the labs reads the certificates.

Your "other" watches already have dates. The real sub needs no date.

My point was that I don't need a number strapped on my wrist to know the date any more than I need my home address written inside my shirt sleeve so I can find my way home. A date function to me would just be a hassle with 6-8 watches and rarely wearing one 2 days in a row. Plus I really dislike the cyclops in particular and most date windows in general. I do like the dial on the ND models. Either really works and it is a personal preference.

I would think due to the price of the no-date sub that more people would buy them simply because Rolex is getting out of hand with the prices

I prefer the Sub to the Sub Date personally. I've been enjoying mine for ~7 years now.

I'm a Sub Date man primarily... but I also really want a NOS 114060 as well, so I'm on the lookout.

Sub, Sub date, it really doesn't matter to me. Either is awesome.
I've got the Sub since I also have the GMT. Just a little bit more to distinguish two very similar watches. I would still anticipate that the Sub date will always be a slight premium to the Sub, but I could definitely be wrong. |

The prices are getting out of hand online, where the submariner is selling just right behind the sub date. At retail, the submariner is almost 9k. I would think if someone can afford a 9k watch they can afford a 10k watch.

Yes it’s looking like the sub steel has pretty much caught up the sub date in asking. But it is a beauty to be fair and there are probably fewer modern subs than dates (ln and lv) by a factor of several multiples Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

First thing in the morning when I check my phone for messages, I see the date.
If I can't remember it for the rest of the day, I have bigger problems. Both are great, but I like the simple design and clean dial in a few of my Rolex. So my submariner and OP 41 are a welcome change. |

The original submariner didn't have a date, so I feel it is more true to the original. Also my OCD likes the symmetry a little better
