Brand new rolex - black marks
Brand new rolex (less than 1 month old)
Suddenly found some black marks on some links from the back side. And also on the clasp exactly where those links meet. These were the best photos I could take unfortunately. Regarding the links-It’s not dirt, I tried rubbing it off with some water. It seems like discoloration. Regarding the clasp- it looks like some sort of reaction with the links. It’s hard to see but I can definitely feel those marks with my fingernail. What can/should I do? I already tried removing with some dish soap and warm water but it stayed. Steel rubs against steel, creating marks. Pretty normal if you wear a watch.

I have not seen that happen before. Links don't really rub against each other. It seems the metal is reacting to your skin by the description. Where did you buy the watch? I have multiple stainless and gold rolex watches and this doesn't happen.

Just looked at the pic. Gold doesn't react like that to skin. I'd be concerned. but it could be the center gold links rubbed against the steel clasp and made the marks? I never had a TT jubilee so do not know. did this happen in wear or just stored?

Welcome to the forum.
I can’t see your pictures but there is a certain amount of friction where metal meets metal, and on SS it looks “grayish”

Looks like normal wear, backside of bracelet rubbing against the clasp. It’s steel vs gold rubbing. Listen to Paul, let it be.

For the experts. So is this common on ss/gold watches? All gold bracelet doesn't do this.
