Solid Gold Datejust on Rolex site

Is the solid gold Datejust being shown on the Rolex site an new watch? Next to that model is another Datejust with interesting arrangement of diamonds.

I don't see the DJ you're referring to. But a solid gold DJ wouldn't surprise me. I prefer them to the DD because they're thinner with less on the dial.

You're probably looking at women DJ's. Would be cool if Rolex brought back an all gold Men's DJ in 36 or 41!

Or a DJ 31, which technically used to be a unisex/midsize. Today it’s worn almost exclusively by women but it’s not as inherently feminine in style as the 28. In fact there are some really cool vintage men’s watches in the 30-32mm range out there.

There was the solid gold Date Just 36mm fluted bezel and Jubilee in all gold for years. Too bad it was dis-continued a few years back.

I recall the leather strap version well but am trying to remember: Was the bracelet version always hollow link (to differentiate from DD), or did it go solid in the end?

Allays liked the strap versions better, though, especially the DD with it’s more subtle clasp. A DD on OF, by the way, is one of my predictions for the coming days.

The reference is 116238. It is identical to the steel version. There is one on Ebay at the moment if you search the reference number.
