gmt master ii bracelet swap

Hello,

I have a 126710BLNR with jubilee bracelet and have been looking to get an oyster to swap out from time to time on the watch.

I stumbled on an article from the website "Ablogtowatch" and they talk about the oyster coming back to the gmt master ii. The One part that caught my eye was this:

"Beyond reintroducing the Oyster bracelet to the Rolex GMT-Master II 127610BLNR and GMT-Master II 127610BLRO, however, a brand representative has confirmed to aBlogtoWatch that for the first time ever, Rolex will be selling its bracelets to consumers independent of watch purchases."

Does anyone know if this is true? Will we be able to buy the oyster bracelet straight from Rolex and swap it now?

Thanks for any insight.

Welcome to the forum

You can buy a new GMT with either the jubilee or oyster, but I’m not sure about ordering just the bracelet. Something tells me it won’t be that simple

Just get a 78200 Oyster Bracelet and put it on the 126710 BLRO using the springbars of the Jubilee Bracelet. That's it.

I'm sure rolex did something like put the springbar off center on the new models.

Sorry I missed your post and started a thread just now on the same subject.

Yes it seems (according to the article) Rolex may now sell you an Oyster bracelet. You’ll just have to wait and see if this actually comes true!

I tried this weekend and the the bracelet works but spring bars are the issue. The 116710 bars are too wide/fat to fit in the 69200 bracelet, while the spring bars from the BLRO do not sit in the 116710 holes in the case.

I am not sure which Rolex spring bars will work or if aftermarket ones will have to be ordered. If anyone can chime in as to which bars would work for the 69200 on the 116710, I'd love to know as well.

Bought my BLRO in July last year. Visited my AD this past Saturday, they said it looks like the 'new' bracelets will NOT fit older Pepsi's - but they are waiting for confirmation from Rolex, which they should get this week. They also stated that in order to purchase the bracelet separately the AD would have to have a 'parts account'.

The SA was quite candid - the bracelet code is the same so for all intents and purposes it should fit perfectly, and why on earth would Rolex go out of their way to do this just to make things difficult for existing BLRO owners - especially when Rolex know the demand for option bracelets would be high?

They also confirmed that a 114060 / 79200 fits but ideally requires the BLRO spring bars...

In the UK it is true. My AD will start taking orders for extra GMT and Sky Dweller bracelets in 2022.

Since the five digit GMT days Rolex USA at least has always discouraged selling “small parts” separately. I have my 116500 on OEM Oysterflex halves but had to jump through some hoops to get them as my watch didn’t come with them.
By now offering a couple of models on different bracelets it would be logical to offer them, but I still suspect there may be some obstacles either in availability or cost.

Since the announcement I call RSC NYC each Monday asking if they’ve received the oyster for my 126710. Each week (other than the first week when they were clueless) they reconfirm it is in there system for purchase however it will not be in stock for at least 6 months.

I picked up a new Pepsi two or three weeks ago from a boutique. They told me at that time it would be later this year before oyster and Jubilee bracelet would be available.

I guess I have the beat of both worlds
The 116710 BLNR and 126710 BLRO, so can interchange jubilee and oyster on both

My AD confirmed that oyster can be ordered separately. Timing - likely next year.
Price - they expect around EUR 1,600.

Ok so it is possible to put oyster on both but the jubilee only works on the BLRO?

Correct, however if you can find aftermarket spring bars the 69200 should work on the 116710BLNR.
