I have to say that I think your 16520 looks nicer than a 116500 in this photograph.

How can a 116500 be NOS (New Old Stock), it's current production? Anyway, I would take the NOS 16520 in a heartbeat.

If you have several of these, I'm sure a dealer would trade you straight up for a new 116500. Keep the Zenith, keep the NOS LV and trade the worn one.

That being said, I wouldn't bother if the plan is to just keep the 116500 in a safe unworn. Don't see it being the same kind of collectors item long-term that even the LV is, let alone the Zenith. However, if you'd rather wear a new Panda than an old LV, then sure, why not.

I stuck my Tudor Chrono on and I think it has killed the 116500 itch ... for now at least :)

Good move. Hang onto that 16520 for as long as you can.

Are you going to actually wear the 116500? If so, I’d also bail on the 16520. You’re not wearing it and wearing it would not make it NOS. But you’re also not enjoying ownership either. These things are meant to wear.

If you’re going to get the 116500 and not wear it like the Zenith, then the obvious choice is to keep the Zenith.

I decided to keep the 16520. Any 116500 would be to wear. I stuck my Black Bay Chrono on for now which has distracted my recent 116500 obsession :)

Hello, I'm in the UK and only just got my head around keeping it. I see you are in the USA so it would be impossible to meet up and do the trade anyway.

Finally got a nice complete example (P serial) about a year ago. Still can’t read it

If they go as high as discussed here it’s getting listed :)

Nice! I hear you there. I have a love hate relationship with the Daytona. I think it’s a stellar only watch but I find myself perpetually moving them on amongst a collection. I think I will always prefer Subs and GMTs. I love the tactile feel of a Rolex bezel whereas with a Daytona I’m just fiddling with annoying screw down pushers lol

I’ll be back

Nailed it.
The sub will always be my choice if only one.

I've listed it for sale here:

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?p=12062331

No idea what it is worth so I will keep reducing the price until sold.

I'm not a Daytona fan but I know enough to pick the Zenith.

I have used versions of both. If I had to, I’d choose the ceramic over the Zenith.

That said a NOS 16520 vs a new 116500LN is a no brainer. The Zenith every time.

She is now down to £39,500. Will be reduced every day until swapped or sold :)
