Sold 116710

Just learned that my Rolex was advertised and sold(from a major grey dealer on this site) with a fake Rolex service invoice…what is the right thing to do.

Wow. Surely that's a "name and shame" moment?

Funny how many around here think a "trusted seller" performs and a 157 point inspection on all watches that come in and to be sold to the next customer. Personally I haven't had an issue with an "A list" seller here but I was still nervous and went through with it because the watch was a few days old dated from the ad for a new release. On the other hand I have had issues with some "B-list" sellers around here not worth mentioning for lower end watches i.e. missing links, inaccurate description, minor issues, etc.

OP I hope your situation gets resolved, I can understand it can be a little nerve wrecking.

The only trusted sellers are located here:

Anything else is a gamble to some extent.

Fully agree.

‘Trusted Sellers’ of real worth will not sell you a fake watch. At least, hopefully not. However even the most ‘trusted’ of those may, unknowingly, sell you a stolen watch.

Obviously the most ‘trusted’ will resolve the issue of the watch is identified as stolen, but the risk is that may be many years later when the watch goes for servicing.

More information would be helpful. The circumstance of the fake service information and is this a direct purchase or a purchase through another party. Before you name and shame present all the facts and the members here can provide good suggestions on how to proceed.

I would go back to the seller if the watch was sold without papers, but used the invoice to back up its authenticity; and you used this to believe the watch was genuine, depending on the price i would look for a small refund, as you can no longer use it in any future sale, and you may have to pay another watch maker to authenticate it.

If what you say is true & you have verified it, out them. Save others from the same experience. Did they supply the receipt or did they receive it from the previous owner?

Scant info at best. That’s a big claim for so little detail.

Was you watch stolen?
Did you sell that watch to that grey dealer?
How do you know it’s your watch?
How do you know that service was not completed?

A bit more info would be nice before such accusations.

You read it the way i did initially, the answers seem to suggest he bought the watch.

The right thing to have done before posting this? Call that dealer and figure out the situation.

If truly counterfeit service papers? Come to an agreement on a remedy.

My suggestion in case #2 is based on the date of the counterfeit service papers: if dated within last few years, then a feee service. If dated more than 5 years ago, then nothing.

I call bs on this. Big claim, no details, low posts. provide some details and post the listing and offer some information.

Nice BS story, there is little or no added value in service papers. makes no sense.

I sold my watch to a dealer. Then he added a service history from one of the random years this watch was in my possession and on my wrist.

I bought a watch from a TS once although it was authentic, the sapphire crystal was aftermarket.

This is correct. Not sure what OP’s angle is with this post. ‘TS bought my watch and added service papers’ and won’t name seller or post listing.

Do you have a link to the sale? Might help counter the more aggressive posts here.

Why out someone if you're going to put the lowest of efforts into doing so? It just questions your credibility.

If you know for a fact the dealer added fake RSC service documentation during a date when you had the watch in your possession, why be so damn covert about providing tangible information?
You are wasting time with such a vague claim if you will not provide a copy of your sales receipt to the dealer and the dealers name and listing to disprove the validity of the RSC papers.
Why even bother starting a thread in this case?
