Cartier Santos Questions
I'm considering a Santos and have a skinny, 7 inch wrist. Will the large look crazy on me? I'm considering the blue dial, which only comes in large. But I wouldn't be opposed to the white dial medium. Can anyone provide insight?
Also, since these watches are readily available at retail, is better to just purchase at a boutique as opposed to buying gray? It looks like gray Markey saves maybe $1k. |

Even the large is not very large. I think you’ll be fine on a 7 inch wrist.
My wrist is about 7 1/4 |

My wrist is just a shade under 7" and the Santos wore very well on me. The only watch I have that wears a little too large for my wrist is the Bvlgari Octo Finissimo.

Wouldn't consider a 7in wrist as skinny. Santos should look perfect on your wrist.

I have a large blue dial with a wrist similar to yours and it looks great.
I’m assuming by “skinny wrist” you mean flat. |

It will fit you perfectly.

Square watches wear differently than round watches. Both Santos M and L will fit you fine in terms of lugs, bracelet, etc. It’s just a question of how much dial you want to look at, as the square watch does display more real estate.
The Santos has an awesomely comfortable bracelet, and very cool strap/link stystem. |

I have about a 7 inch wrist that is more flat than round, and I absolutely love the medium. I think the smaller size suits the feel and history of the watch, and I enjoy the simple three hander.
Took a quick pic to show. |

Just bought the Santos Large ADLC(last Thursday). My wrist is 6.9. This watch wears smaller than the numbers would say. I think you'd be fine.

It will be okay. Similar 7 inch wrist, got the large version. Looks good.

I seriously considered both the medium and large - also have an oval 7inch wrist.
The black gray ADLC version was a very good fit, the black and gray make the watch wear smaller than the white or blue IMO, and the medium felt too small. Both are readily available at the boutique and AD (no discount offered from AD to me anyway). I opted for the 3861 moonwatch instead as it was about the same price as the large and I just liked it better. |

It’s not an easy pick. I have a 6.5 wrist and even think the lg is the better fit. Plus let’s face it, so many great options in the large model, lazy not offering them in midsize? I’ve owned multiple of the large and they really are at the max for me. After viewing pics here, I figured the mid was a no brainer….until I tried it on and felt it was too small.

I have a thin wrist and the Santos Medium. The Large looked wrong and did not give the "classic" feel.

My personal view is that the Santos is a sports watch and that the medium looks too small on wrists 7 inches and above. If you intend for it to be a dress watch, then the medium makes sense, but as a modern sports watch, I think the large is a better choice.

I think the specific reference plays a pretty big role here. I have a 6.5" wrist, and own the WSSA0037 (size large, steel with ADLC bezel and brushed grey dial). I wear it mostly on the black rubber strap. The size may not be in keeping with the historic vibe of the watch, but I'd say perhaps the reference itself isn't either. I love it, and never think for a second that it's too big. Not sure I'd think the same thing if it was the white dial version. The blue dial reference seems somewhere in between.

I have about a 7 inch wrist and also went with the blue dial large Santos. the curved case and lugs really make it a great fit and it's very comfortable.

I prefer the medium and my wrist is larger than yours. I would go medium if I we’re you.

Large on my 7" wrist looks and feels great to me. Also give you the option of swapping out the bracelet for the ADLC rubber strap. Light, comfortable, and casual.
