Picked this up with a little story….

I mentioned in a couple threads over the past few months that my father had passed away in Dec 21. He left behind a few things for my sister and I. He was a watch guy but mostly a car enthusiast. He had a number of odd watches and a couple Rolex. His DJ two-tone 36mm, was what he wore daily, had it serviced a couple times over the years, and it’s what I remember seeing on his wrist most every day. Wore it with no cares, never babied it, and wore it with anything. I think that’s where I got my …being a wearer vs a collector.
I love the watch because it was his and it reminds me of him every day, and I’d never sell it.
Me personally, I don’t like anything smaller than 39mm for myself, so whilst I’d love to wear it, it just doesn’t fit to my eyes.
So…I thought I’d just honor that watch and him in my own way/perspective ….

It's the watch on your wrist? That size looks right to me.

Excellent! I, too, have a 36mm TT DJ and have worn it almost every day for the past 35 years. It is truly a classic. Great story.

They are both beautiful. Perhaps your sister could wear the 36?

Very cool story. I too inherited my father's 36 TT DJ and would never part with it. I'd sell everything off before I ever let that go.

Sorry for your loss. Your dad's DJ36 looks so similar to your DJ41, truly kindred spirits.

Yes, thank you. That’s exactly what I was trying to accomplish, found the same exact configuration, only in today’s 41mm version.

Congratulations, Richard! I hope you enjoy the memories when you wear it. My day wore a green dial Wyler with Incabloc system while I was in high school. I remember that watch well and I'm looking at getting a green dialed Rolex in memory of him. I've already got a memorial watch from my younger day to emulate him. Back then he wore a rectangular cased Hamilton. He died almost forty years agon and he' be 113 if he were alive today.
