Not a big fan of the design, but love the 37mm case. Maybe they'll do a more down to earth Version someday. Only 50m WR for an offshore, though? Hope that's a typo, 43mm has 100m WR apparantly.

From the posts so far it’s clearly a marmite watch - marmite watches very often end up being the most desired of all :-)

What a joke.

The small blue one with a regular navy blue dial would be stunning though.

I like the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak “Rainbow” 15413BC more, but this would fit those who are in the music industry.

Did anyone watch the video clip?

Do the colorful bars in the VU meter on the dial have lume? It looks like it on the video.

Looks pretty cool in black light.

Really don’t get the hate around this. If I were a DJ (and I’m not), I’d love to rock one of these.

In all fairness though, wasn’t the same said about the Marvel piece they made, but then it was/is highly sought after? True, by a niche group, but someone loved it. This music edition isn’t as far out as the Marvel effort. And it is creative at the end of the day. So i’m guessing DJs and music producers from LA and NY will be rocking these. Time will tell.

I'm a musician in the night clubbing scene and here's my opinion:
For accuracy, the VU markings shouldn't have any other colours except for Red, Yellow, and Green. However, to me, music is about creativity, not so much on accuracy, hence the additional colours do add more life to the dial. It's really fun. Very cheeky and good move on the "fader" crown guard too. It also comes with few colourful strap options, and that ignites the playful side in me. Also, an improvement is that the AP logo doesn't come with the "island" like the previous 43roo. I do really like this overall!

However, it is sure strange that even without date and chronograph function, this watch is still of similiar thickness to other roos.

💯 The fader crown guard is a very nice touch indeed! As is the logo sans ‘island’ underneath it.
Thanks for the comment on the VU marking colors as they didn’t exactly match what I’ve seen (i’m not in the industry).
The big mystery remains about the movement and thickness despite being a time only.
So why is this designated as a ROO if no other functions? Is the designation based only on size being > 41mm?

At first glance, I thought the ceramic version was going to be part of the RO collection! I believe why it belongs to the Offshore collection is because the entire watch design strays away from the more traditional RO (Thickness, size, crownguard). Another reason could perhaps be the "purpose". Offshores are usually more "fun/cool".

As for the thickness, I can only guess that it's because AP wouldn't have to create a new set of mould for this limited music edition watches which would be costly.
