1316 has small chunk missing from EVERY lug!
Hi,
I have a 1316 brand new from the AD, however I noticed something odd a few months in. Every single lug has what looks like a tiny chunk missing. What is odd is that the mark exists on all 4 lugs in the exact same spot. At first I thought I did it but no change of doing it 4 times in the same place! Not too bothered, just wondered if this is normal or if mine is special Thanks |

I would assume that is a manufacturing issue. I have no clue but look forward to seeing what other members have to add.

When you drag your fingernail across each one of those areas, does it feel like a smooth, shallow depression?
Or like a “chip” with sharp edges? I’m asking because I don’t see a chunk missing - it’s more like the marks made if the case was pressed too hard into a jig/holder. That would cause symmetrical depressions rather than a set of sharp dings. Once the case/lugs are finished, brushed, and inspected during manufacture, the only steps remaining that I can imagine is installing the movement and stem, screwing down the caseback, and attaching the strap. A worker could have used a jig to hold the case during any of those steps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Definitely doesn’t look right to me … the polish on the top surface should at least match the rest of the lug

Its like a graze more than anything. In a holder probably makes sense. It is very minor so no stress. I have had far worse from a brand new watch that this!

“the case is mixed polish/brush like a mutant zebra”, what did you mean by this exactly?
