PAM 233 Dot

I currently own this and it is a full set including inner and outer boxes, all matching tags, etc. etc. Currently contemplating selling this. Is that a mistake? I do enjoy the watch but I could see myself living without it. I just am concerned I’ll have sellers remorse and it will be near impossible to replace it. Please talk me in or out of it. Thanks

I still think it is one of the best looking models, unless like me you feel in the end the dial might be a little too busy. I had a Panerai GMT and let it go for a “plainer” model.

I had one for a couple of years. It outlived a 390 Base, but after a while I felt it was just too busy. 6 months after selling it I realised I missed having a Panerai but I went back to base with an early 112.

I had two 233s (AM/PM and Dot Dial). I missed that watch but like others on this thread, I went for something a bit larger and simpler. I wanted the four cardinal numerals and the domed sapphire and ended up with my PAM 217. Still love the 233 and was thinking about getting one again but I think buying it three times is too much LOL.

personally i prefer the simple panerai.

I have bought and sold 3 Panerai's all with GMT complications(PAM531/PAM944/PAM533) because it was my second alternative choice to a Rolex GMT-Master II.

I had enough so I went grey to get 126710BLNR this year and never looked back.
So if this is your alternative choice, why not get the watch you want. Just my 2 cents.

I have a long love/hate relationship with Panerai as a brand. I was in deep in the early to mid 2000's and then moved away for a number of reasons. I am back now and have reconciled my feelings and thoughts on the brand and enjoy the watches greatly. I had admired the 233 from afar since it was released and the domed crystal really makes it for me. I have the dot model and with the strap options it might be one that never leaves the collection. I also own the 317 that is a similar blacked out watch with the AM/PM and chronograph. The 233's are difficult to find in the condition a collector would want and the price are strong. I would not sell it. Give it some wrist time, change the straps and enjoy. Let us know what you decide.

I've had many different models such as the 000, 312, 504 and many others. The 233 has never left the collection. There's just something truly special about it for me.

I would not sell it. Truly tough to replace, I have always loved it.

Didn’t you just pick this up a couple months ago? I remember because I was hoping to get to DSW to see one IRL before buying one.

You are correct. I do enjoy the watch, but what I have realized is a lot of Paneristi are info straps and strap changes and that is not me. I’m leaning towards keeping it at the moment.

I would keep it. The dot variation is hard to find and a pure collectors item.
BTW strap changing is overrated
