Stuck on a desert island… Which watch?

Ok so as you can tell I’m bored in the sun today, thinking if I was to be on a boat, boat goes down and have to swim to the nearest island and have a watch on my wrist till rescue, for a few weeks at least, what would it be. HAS to be mechanical only caveat.

I think after some deliberation I’m going for the Glashutte Original Panorama date , in two tone, I think the gold will look pretty in the island sun 😂. Yeah so I’d love to hear some suggestions of what you’d be wearing.

Well obviously a solar G-shock or Citizen Eco Drive Toughmaster Pro Ray Mears, but if it had to be mechanical, something bullet-proof and mass produced, with great water resistance.

Thinking Sub (date, so I’d know how long I’d been marooned) or some version of the Omega Seamaster.

That said, maybe one of the more rugged tool-watch Grand Seiko Spring Drives. Cos then I wouldn’t need to worry about time drift while I was waiting to be saved…

Very much agree on the Grand Seiko spring drive, very good call there.

And the Sub, had to be there, I feel the metal band would get to me in that environment personally, but yeah can’t not mention a Sub as it’s a nigh on perfect tool watch.

James Cameron Deepsea will outlast you and the island.

Stuck on a desert island. Isn't that an oxymoron?

If I was actually stuck on a "deserted" island, all I need is a stick in the ground to let me know about what time it is. Not like I have an appointment I'm going to be late for, or some steaks on the grill to time.

I would go for a solar G shock.
Time of day is not as important to me as is keeping track of the days.

+1 for the Breitling Emergency, assuming I wanted to not stay. Working on the opposite assumption that I might want to stay, I’d go with a fulll YG LB Sub…just because.

Fixed blade, nice big handle.

And maybe a knife sharpening kit to go with it.

haha

For watches, I would prefer a compass over a watch. I would have no meeting, no phone call to make, so I don't want why I would need a watch.
